At RSDO Training, we believe effective training should build confidence and understanding rather than leave staff feeling overwhelmed or unsure.
Training is designed to encourage discussion, understanding and confidence rather than overwhelming staff with clinical or theory-heavy information. The training also encourages approaches that support dignity, reassurance and respectful communication within day-to-day care environments.
RSDO Training also draws upon recognised dementia care approaches, including learning from Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care Dementia Workshops, helping staff better understand the experiences, behaviours and communication needs of individuals living with dementia.
Our Dementia Awareness Training focuses on:
- communication and understanding
- person-centred approaches
- recognising behavioural changes
- supporting dignity and respect
- reducing distress and anxiety
- improving staff confidence
- creating calmer and more supportive care environments
- reassurance approaches
- understanding communication changes
- practical real-world scenarios
Rather than relying heavily on theory-based delivery, the focus is on practical understanding and realistic discussion around the situations staff may encounter within their roles.
The aim is not simply to deliver compliance-focused or box-ticking training, but to help staff feel more informed, more confident and better equipped to support individuals living with dementia within real working environments.
